An Unstructured Transformation Layer

We put the T in Unstructured ETL.

What is a UTL?

An Unstructured Transformation Layer sits on on top of extracted unstructured textual data (the E in ETL), whacks it into form, then prepares it to be loaded into a data warehouse or other structured destinations (the L in ETL).

Why Do I Need a UTL?

The main problem with unstructured data is using it in practice. What if there was a way to simply treat your raw text like any other data source? No infra required?
That’s where a UTL comes into play.

Why Invent a New Term?

Great question. We thought long and hard about where Flexor fits in the data stack, and figured out that we’re really a different transformation paradigm. We set out to transform transformations, if you will, for raw text – and since there wasn’t a term for it, we coined one.
